NOTE
To avoid electromagnetic interference when the scanner is connected to a
CBX connection box, verify the jumper positions in the CBX as indicated in
its Installation Manual.
3.1 POWER SUPPLY
Vdc models:
Power can be supplied to the scanner through the CBX100/500 spring clamp terminal pins
as shown in Figure 6:

The power must be between 20 and 30 Vdc only. The max. power consumption is 30 W
including startup current.
Several accessory power supplies are available to power the DX8200A Vdc models and
reading station components. See par. 1.7.
A security system allows the la
ser to activate only once the motor has reached the correct
rotational speed; consequently, the laser beam is generated after a slight delay from the
power on of the scanner.
It is recommended to connect the device CHASSIS to earth ground (Earth) by setting the
appropriate jumper in the CBX connection box. See the CBX Installation Manual for details.
Vac models:
The supply voltage for correct operation of the scanner must be between 110 and 240 VAC.
The max. power consumption is 48 VA including startup current.
24 Vdc is generated and available on the 26-pin connector and can be used to power
external devices through a correctly jumpered CBX100/CBX500, i.e. photocell, etc. This
voltage however cannot be used to propagate power for a Lonworks network.
A security system allows the laser to activate only once the motor has reached the correct
rotational speed; consequently, the laser beam is generated after a slight delay from the
power on of the scanner.
